South Phoenix is a food desert segregated by landfills and brownfields. For the survival of our people, we must pay young people to learn how to nourish themselves, rather than getting paid to work at a fast food corporation.
These programs teach young people and their families how to grow their own food and herbs, cook what they grow, save seeds, and reconnect with lost ancestral foods and medicinal practices.
